Alan Guy

Investment Director

Alan Guy works with law firms and claimants on how third-party funding can be deployed across a broad range of high-value commercial litigation disputes. Based in New York, his role includes identifying and providing a full appraisal of disputes that Vannin will consider for funding, as well as monitoring disputes that Vannin has committed to fund.

Alan is an attorney with experience handling complex and cross-border disputes in US state and federal courts, as well as in non-US jurisdictions.

Prior to joining Vannin, Alan practiced at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer US LLP, advising both US and non-US clients on high-value claims. His clients included financial institutions, private equity funds, technology companies, manufacturers, and private individuals. His matters involved, among other things, allegations of anti-competitive conduct, breaches of contract, accounting fraud, and violations of intellectual property rights.

Alan is a graduate of Northwestern University’s Pritzker School of Law and clerked for the Honorable James R. Spencer, then Chief Judge of the United States Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

He regularly writes on issues related to cross-border disputes and civil discovery.

Alan is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and to the bar of the SDNY.
