Michael German works with law firms and claimants on how third-party funding can be pursued and utilised across a broad range of high-value commercial litigation disputes. Based in New York, his role focuses on identifying and providing a full appraisal of disputes that Vannin will consider for funding, as well as monitoring disputes that Vannin has committed to fund.
He is an attorney with significant experience in all phases of litigation in both state and federal court.
Prior to joining Vannin Capital, Michael was a Senior Associate at Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP. His practice focused on commercial litigation and products liability, representing various consumer products manufacturers, securities firms, telecommunications companies, individuals and other entities in contentious litigation in federal and state court as well as in arbitration. In addition to his discovery and trial experience, Michael served as national coordinating strategy counsel for a major consumer products company facing thousands of similar claims. Also, his legal experience extends to conducting multinational corporate internal investigations, developing related compliance programs and defending against white collar criminal and civil allegations.
Michael graduated from Brooklyn Law School, cum laude, where he served as Articles Editor for the Brooklyn Law School Journal of Law and Policy, was a summer law clerk to the Honorable David G. Trager, Senior Judge in the Eastern District of New York, and was named a Jerome Prince Merit Scholar, a Gerald Shargel Criminal Law Scholar and the Lubetsky Memorial Scholar. Michael earned his Bachelor of Arts (highest honors) in Labor and Employment Relations from Rutgers University.
He is admitted to practice law in the State of New York as well as several federal trial and appellate courts throughout the United States.
