Neil is an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. He is a director of Bramden Investments and the DLA group, and responsible for the group finance function of Vannin Capital.
A graduate of Lancaster University, Neil began his career with Ernst & Young where his clients included international airlines, shipping companies, law firms as well as a wide variety of investment companies. As well audit and advisory engagement, he worked on a number of AIM listings.
Following this Neil was appointed Financial Controller for one of London’s largest private landlords. With responsibility for a £1.5bn portfolio of commercial property and annual rent and service charge invoicing in excess of £90m, Neil brought over half the property management portfolio in-house.
He oversaw the profitable disposal of a £30m shopping centre, as well as a number of acquisitions, including four prestigious buildings in London’s Leicester Square. Aside from his finance responsibilities Neil oversaw the group’s litigation affairs, working with a variety of London law firms on matters ranging from landlord and tenant disputes, to a multi-million pound arbitration against a FTSE 350 company.
Neil also has a significant amount of experience in start-ups and business acquisitions. Aside from his natural bias towards property investments, he has driven the due diligence and bidding process for investments including a 5* golf and spa resort, a large UK oil distribution group and one of the UK’s oldest car finance businesses with turnover in excess of £300m.
