I'm gonna try on my '67 whenever I get started on it.

GM ignition stuff is pretty reliable.

Hmmm, the link seems to have expired...
Do you remember who made it?

Not that I care, as it won't fit my engine anyway...

If it is a D.U.I system, they make models to fit most every engine out there, Fords, Mopars, Toyotas, Mazdas, even air-cooled VWs! All based on a GM HEI system...here is their link, not sure it is who NATE was referring to, but...

IIrc, it was pretty much the same thing, just that it used an ordinary mopar distributor, with a heatsink and hei module bolted to it.

Here's another Mopar kit they offer. Pricey.

Why spend all that money when you can do the same with junkyard parts?

I worked with a guy to try this out on an old Valiant I owned and it works great. Grab a junkyard electronic ignition distributor, grab an HEI unit from a junked GM product (get a four pin, the seven pin is for fuel injection), and wire it up according to this diagram. The HEI unit MUST be grounded on the backside, otherwise this is a fairly brainless and straightforward swap.

If you have the original distributor for your motor, I would recommend swapping the wieghts, springs, and vacuum advance pod from your original points distributor to the EI distributor to keep the advance curve correct. Otherwise you might end up with an incorrect advance curve in the EI distributor.
