Hi!

I have Chevy Van Beauville G30 1979, it was imported to Russia (yeah, I'm from Russia) in 2003.
Shure, russian servicemans a little bit nasty, and after I got this van, I'm going to carefuly restore it.
So, my new friend: van

At first, I want to replace old carb Rochester, but not sure what carburetor and intake I need for GM Goodwrench exactly - I think it's not stock engine or I'm not right?

I hope, somebudy can help me in this case. Unfortunately, my english is not good now, and here in Russia I'm away from good information about American cars, so please excuise if I'm so stupid in this matter.

Anton.

welcome aboard!

I would start by finding a factory service manual for it and finding all the details on the van, such as engine sizes, year, etc. From there the Chevy guys can recommend what works best.

Welcome to the site - great looking Beauville you have...

a Goodwrench engine is a Factory GM replacement engine - so everything that was stock on the van (assuming it was a factory V8 van) will work on it...

a Rochester is a good carburetor, but can be a nightmare to work on if you don't know what you're doing...

putting on a performance intake or carburetor is something you'll have to consider what you want to use the van for... i put a Weiand 'Stealth' intake on my Goodwrench motor for my '84 Chevy G20 and I like it - I had it on another motor before... I also kept my quadrajet, but it desperately needs a rebuild...

good luck with yours...!

Go with an Edelbrock performer intake and a 450 or 500 cfm carb on top. This is a very simple and maintenance free sertup.

welcome

And what you think about this Holley carb?
http://holley.com/0-80457S.asp

So the problem is that I can't understand is 600cfm fit for GM Goodwrench?Goodwrench engine is stock engine or customized?

The second question - about new intake. Is intake for Rochester fit for 4barrel Holley?

Thanks for support!

The GM Goodwrench label likely means the original engine was replaced with a new engine purchased at a dealership rather than rebuilding the original engine.

Most all aftermarket intakes will use a square base carb. They are easily seen for obvious reasons, it is a square shape where the carb bolts to the intake. Intakes that accept Rochester carbs have a larger opening at the rear and smaller openings at the front. The Edelbrock Performer and a few other aftermarket intakes will accept a Holley square flange carb or a Rochester style carb. If the intake you choose has only a square base, it will only accept a Holley type carb but there are adapter plates which can be bolted to the intake which will allow it to accept a Rochester.

There is one exception, there used to be a Holley Spreadbore carb which would bolt directly to a Rochester style intake, I am not sure if they still make this style or not. If you are buying new, I doubt you will have any issues.

Make sure you get the linkage parts you need to properly hook your transmission cable back up to the carb or you could damage the transmission.

I love Holley carbs and that one isn't a bad deal.

You can actually use a smaller one if the engine is stock. Goodwrench engines were replacement engines sold by GM to replace their engines. It was just a Trade Name. As far as I remember you could get them with different performance packages as well, so you may want to go with the 600 CFM carb and jet it down or up as needed to work for you.

With the intake there were single barrel, two barrel and four barrel carbs. It depends on what your van has now as to whether the Holley will work on the intake you already have. If you can post a picture of what you have we could tell better.
