I'm not being negative to the idea but is this the future or are they repeating the propane fueled van experiment from years ago?

Propane/butane (LPG) is widely used in Europe as an alternative fuel (it's taxed at a much lower rate than gasoline, giving an approximate cost of $4/gal versus $7-8/gal for gasoline), but CNG might be much better. If it becomes widely available (infrastructure-wise), it might prove far superior to LPG. Anyway, I'm glad the manufacturers are working in this direction; natural gas should be much cheaper than gasoline.
