Description
My new $175 craigslist find- THIS is what you call a heavy chevy. VIN codes it as a chevy BUS, not van, and lists GVWR as 9,000lbs.Also states it is a full one ton van, despite non-floating rear...how intriguing...originally ordered by a helicopter service company in Hawaii. Big plans for this big chassis, heh heh...

nice chevy van.It looks like you have 8 lug wheels, I think ford and dodge 8 lug wheels will fit that van, check with somebody for sure. you can fix that up to be a very nice van, it dosent matter about the size as long as you like it and your vannin

Any Man that saves a Van from a potential future boneyard vulture feast is a Friend of mine. NOT that im saying picking at a Van at boneyard isnt the cats meow, if a Van is sitting there for whatever reason...The damage is done so let the good times roll!

Keep us updated on the progress!

As an owner of a former workhorse myself, enjoy the transition. I'll probably keep my paint for Nats. Is there a trophy for "Survivor Van"? HAHA! My thinking is this: Since my van spent 40 years on the job, (although less than 14,000 miles),it deserves some fun before transformation.
Mine has 8 lug spindles too... I guess I'll have to find some aluminum truck wheels huh? I'm guessing 16 inch wheels to replace my 16&1/2 wheels shouldn't matter...
