In addition to complying with the Association of Litigation Funders Code of Conduct, Vannin Capital endeavours to conduct its business to the highest ethical standards and has adopted its own code of conduct which contains the following key principles
1. Confidentiality
We treat everything our clients say and every piece of information they send us with the highest level of confidentiality. We store all documentation securely on VCMS behind 128 bit SSL encryption on our own secure virtual private network (VPN) and regularly have a third party carry out rigorous testing of our systems to ensure they are suitably robust.
2. Conflicts of Interest
We use the information our clients provide us solely to deliver appropriate funding solutions that empower them to achieve optimal outcomes in litigation or arbitration proceedings. In the unlikely event that we were approached to fund a claim against a current client, we would always seek the consent of that client prior to involving ourselves with the claim.
3. Commercial Focus
Vannin only funds commercial disputes and does not provide financing for consumer, matrimonial or personal injury claims. In making a funding decision, our Investment Committee will consider not just quantitative, but qualitative factors as well to ensure that the decision we make is one that the company considers to be ethically sound.
4. Diversity & Inclusion
Vannin recognises the value of a diverse and inclusive work place and has adopted a flexible working policy. All hiring, evaluation, promotion, training, development, discipline, compensation and termination decisions are based on qualifications, merit, performance and business considerations only. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, ethnic origin or nationality.
5. The Environment
Our business has been designed to have a low impact on the environment through the use of digital technologies including our VCMS platform, video conferencing, conference calls and other forms of electronic communications. Travel is only undertaken where necessary to fulfil a business objective that would be unlikely to be satisfied without a face-to-face meeting.
6. Corrupt Practices
Vannin has developed and adheres to a comprehensive Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy available here.
